This Animation was a project carried out for the open source journalism company Bellingcat. After speaking to Charlotte Godart, one of their investigators, she advised me to create a project revolving around the convoy carrying the missile launcher which ultimately downed Malaysian airlines flight MH17.
I drew the keyframes on Rizla cigarette papers, filling in the in-betweens to create an animation. This animation Is based off the dashcam footage which the organisation used to identify the convoy, and shows the offending vehicles driving past.
Here are two versions of the final animation, one full screen, and one showing the scale of the frames.
